Classes and Workshops
Our class and workshop schedule changes regularly. Check out our class series and one-time workshops below, and keep an eye out for new offerings!
Thursday Sept 27
Jump into the fun and freedom of art journals. This is one of my favorite mediums of both self-expression and art -- once you start, it's hard to stop! Whether you've kept an art journal for years, are an avid bullet journal-er, or are new to both, there's room for you to explore! Bring a blank book and dive in to mixed media play (you . may get hooked) -- pens, watercolors, calligraphy nibs, acrylics, colored pencils, supplies for collage + more.

Tuesdays, Oct 2-Nov 13
10-11:30am, 6 wks (no class Oct 16)
I can always steady my life once more by returning to my soul. I ask it, "And what is it that you want, dear one?" The answer is always the same: "More wonder, please." -Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic
Let's lean into our sense of wonder -- play, risk and create -- as we look at six different artists (Wolf Kahn pictured). We'll use their approaches and mediums (pastel, acrylic, charcoal + more) to inspire our own art -- an education and an exploration!

Have you always wanted to learn to sketch? Do you feel like stick figures are as far as you’ve gone in art? You’re not alone! Join us in this 4-week series to learn the basics of sketching and drawing. We will learn how to start with basic shapes, sketch lightly, draw proportions within our composition, use variations of line, value and discover our own styles. We’ll work a great deal from nature and will explore still- life, figure drawing, and working from a photograph.
Taught by Alissa Clark
Thursday Oct 4
Indigo is a natural dye that comes from the leaves of the indigo plant. It is a magical dye that produces rich and beautiful colors. Join me at Art Soul Collective as we learn about Indigo and the art of Shibori. We will learn several key Shibori techniques on folding, twisting, pleating, and binding to create beautiful patterns. This is a beginner class and each person will be able to dye 4 cotton handkerchiefs and practice the newly learned shibori techniques.
(taught by fiber artist Nikki Katz @assemblyofthewild)

Each week we’ll enjoy a short story time with music and movements to get our creativity flowing! Then we’ll create fun art project together. Dress to move, play, and get messy!

Join us for an afternoon of drawing a harvest still-life. We'll have all kinds of pumpkins and fall produce that we'll arrange and draw. Once we each have a composition we like, we'll color and shade it step-by-step with oil or chalk pastel. It will be an afternoon of learning and basking in fall colors. This class is great for individuals, groups, or parent-child.
